The World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the multilateral trading system (MTS) has emerged, as a major determinant of international economic activity and exchanges. WTO consistent trade remedial measures like antidumping, countervailing duties and safeguards continue to be used by trading nations. In spite of the tensions that have been prevailing in the MTS for some time, its relevance is intact. Regional Trade Agreements (RTAs) in general , Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreements (CECAs) and similar agreements have emerged, requiring substantial analysis of trade, investment, IPR and other trade and trade related issues. Disputes settlement system at the WTO remains a question mark. APRLP Law has very good knowledge and expertise in these areas.
Augustine Peter has worked on trade issues for a long time and has written widely on multilateral, international and regional trade issues. Issues like trade remedies (subsidies and countervailing measures, antidumping), non-tariff barriers (NTBs) to trade, Sanitary and Phyto-sanitary (SPS) measures.
